Applying: Step by Step

Application for Admission and Scholarships

  • Priority Application Deadline for admission and merit-based awards for the fall semester is December 1.
  • Final Application deadline for admission for the fall semester is July 1.
  • Final Application deadline for admission for the spring semester is December 1.
  • Final Application deadline for admission for the summer semester is May 1.
  • An application, application fee, official high school transcript and one standardized test score (ACT or SAT) must be submitted.
  • Official determination of eligibility for admission is made by the Director of Admission.

Apply:  Step by Step

Students may apply for admission to Missouri University of Science & Technology upon completion of six semesters of high school coursework.  

  1. Complete an [ online application], which includes a report of required coursework. If an online application is not an option for you:
       >> Contact the Office of Admissions to request an application
       >> Request an application from your high school guidance office
       >> Download a printable application [.pdf]
  2. Sign forms
  3. Submit forms, along with the non-refundable $35 application fee payable to Missouri S&T
  4. Request your high school transcript be sent directly to:

  5. **No transcript will be accepted directly from any applicant.  This transcript needs to show your most recent semester of completed coursework. Missouri S&T will request a final transcript upon completion of your senior year.
  6. Request ACT or SAT scores be sent directly to the Director of Admissions.
  7. Personal Statement (Optional):  You may include a personal statement of 200 words or less, discussing a topic you wish the admissions committee to review. This statement may include your educational goals, discussion of personal circumstances, etc.

Special Instructions for Applying Online:

The online application will take about 20 minutes to complete. You may save your application and go back to it later if you wish.

If a required field is left blank you will receive an error message and the blank field will be highlighted. In order to minimize your chances of errors, complete the application from beginning to end and do not skip around.

If you apply online and get the message "(your name) thank you for applying.......", you have submitted the application correctly and it will be processed. If you get an error message, please go back and correct the information and re-submit. If you are still having problems at this point, please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.522.0938.

You will need the following information ready to apply online:

  • Social security number
  • Intended course of study
  • ACT/SAT scores if available
  • High school courses taken (if an incoming freshman or transfer with less than 24 college credit hours)
  • Any applicable college or university information
  • High school or community activities
